Introduction
The business requires an experienced and highly professional Technical Project Manager to assist with managing the implementation of Fixed Line Projects within the region. The role of the Technical Project Leader is critical within the region and will work alongside the vendors, other ISPs, customer Project Leaders and planning teams. The role requires a confident, energetic, and experienced individual to represent the TFLS department within the Region. The role is regional specific as the TFLS stakeholders are generally based locally and will be required to be engaged weekly. The role will report directly to the TFLS Regional Manager.
Duties & Responsibilities
Manage end-to-end delivery of fixed line projects from initiation to completion (RFP to COC)
Plan and facilitate project kick-offs, milestone tracking, and overall project governance
Coordinate and manage multiple vendors, ISPs, and contractors for infrastructure deployment
Monitor project schedules, ensuring adherence to SLAs, OLAs, and regional rollout targets
Oversee ordering and provisioning of fixed-line services from third-party ISPs
Identify, manage, and mitigate project risks, dependencies, and escalations
Ensure infrastructure and service quality compliance, including adherence to OHAS policies
Track and report project progress, performance metrics (MTTI, timelines), and cost data
Support stakeholder communication by simplifying technical concepts and providing regular updates
Enable vendor onboarding, alignment with organizational processes, and facilitate vendor payments (COA/COC)
Drive continuous improvement in processes, delivery efficiency, and team collaboration
Review and approve network installations (remote/on-site) based on compliance and documentation
Desired Experience & Qualification
Minimum 5+ years of experience in the Telecommunications industry
Hands-on experience in fixed line / ICT project delivery and service management
Experience managing large-scale, multi-site rollouts (100+ services/month preferred)
Strong experience in vendor and stakeholder management across regions
Exposure to global or multinational environments and diverse teams
Practical knowledge of telecom network implementation (fibre, microwave, etc.)
Understanding of IP networking concepts
Proven ability in risk management, SLA tracking, and project reporting
Desired Qualifications
Matric Certificate (High School completion)
Diploma in Engineering, Telecommunications, or IT (minimum requirement)
PRINCE2 Practitioner and/or PMP Certification (preferred)
Strong understanding of project management methodologies and governance frameworks
