We’re Hiring: New Product Development (NPD) Manager

Unimech Industries is looking for a high-impact New Product Development Manager to lead the introduction of new components into our CNC machine shop. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working at the intersection of engineering, manufacturing, and customer delivery.

What You’ll Do

As NPD Manager, you will own the full lifecycle of new product introduction:

RFQ & Feasibility

• Review drawings, specs, tolerances, and surface finish requirements

• Perform technical feasibility and cycle time estimation

• Support commercial teams during customer discussions

Process Development

• Define machining strategy and operation sequence

• Select machines, tools, and cutting parameters

• Create process plans, work instructions, and control plans

Tooling & Fixtures

• Lead fixture, jig, and gauge development

• Coordinate with tool rooms and external vendors

• Ensure tooling is robust, ergonomic, and production-ready

First Article & Validation

• Drive trials, FAI, and process capability

• Lead APQP / PPAP activities

• Ensure smooth handover to production

Costing & Optimization

• Build accurate machining cost models

• Support competitive and profitable quotations

• Drive continuous improvement post-launch

What We’re Looking For

Experience

• 8–15 years in CNC machining / manufacturing engineering

• Strong exposure to steel, aluminium, and SG iron components

• Proven experience in launching production parts

Technical Skills

• VMC / HMC / CNC turning centers (4th preferred)

• GD&T interpretation

• Tooling and fixturing fundamentals

• Knowledge of APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, Control Plans

Tools & Software

• CAD: Solid

Works / Fusion / AutoCAD

• CAM: Mastercam / NX / Fusion or similar

• ERP / MES exposure is a plus

Education

• B.E / B.Tech – Mechanical / Production / Manufacturing
