Project/Program Manager – Finance IFRS17:

On behalf of our Banking client, Procom is searching for a Project/Program Manager – Finance IFRS17 for a 6-month role. This position is a hybrid position with 2 days onsite at our client’s Toronto office.

Project/Program Manager – Finance IFRS17 - Job Description:

The project involves improving the end-to-end financial reporting process for Global Insurance to address constrained resources and complex data handoffs due to the IFRS17 accounting standards implemented in 2023. The role requires enhancing the current processes to ensure compliance and efficiency.

Project/Program Manager – Finance IFRS17 - Responsibilities:

• Develop, track, and manage project budget, project plans, timelines, and scope

• Manage project resources, including procuring project staff, and developing, motivating, coaching, and advising

• Partner closely with other functional teams to define business requirements

• Lead teams of developers in delivering high-quality software solutions that meet business needs

• Define test plans and ensure products are defect-free before User Acceptance Testing

• Facilitate the User Acceptance Testing process, developing rollout plans and procedures

• Prepare and present cost-benefit analyses

• Ensure appropriate systems development and project management processes are being utilized

• Make presentations to steering committees or project sponsors

• Communicate with project team and vendors

Project/Program Manager – Finance IFRS17 - Mandatory Skills:

• 10+ years of experience as an IT Project/Program Manager, preferably in a large financial institution

• Knowledge of IFRS17

• Knowledge of accounting principles

• Proficiency with MS Suite (Visio, Project, Excel)

• 5+ years of experience working in an Agile/Waterfall environment

Project/Program Manager – Finance IFRS17 – Nice-to-Have Skills:

• Regulatory experience

• Risk Remediation experience

• Recent experience with Top 5 Banks, specifically with Scotiabank

• PMP certification

Project/Program Manager – Finance IFRS17 – Assignment Length:

This is a 6-month contract with the possibility of extension.

Toronto, Ontario, Canada. This is a hybrid role requiring 2 days in-office, which will increase to 4 days in the future.
