Business Data Analyst
Rate – £400 – £475 Inside IR35 (Total to umbrella)
Duration – 6 months
Location – Bristol 3 days on-site per week
About the Role:
We are looking for a driven and adaptable Data Analyst to join a major business transformation programme focused on improving data quality, modernising processes and improving customer experience.
This role sits at the heart of a long-term initiative to better structure, manage and use data across the organisation, helping shift decision making from reactive to proactive, insight led approaches.
The Opportunity:
You’ll play a key part in transforming how the organisation uses data by:
Bringing together fragmented data sources (e.g. spreadsheets, legacy systems)
Helping centralise data into a more structured and accessible environment
Enabling better decision-making through improved data insight and quality
Supporting a more proactive, customer-focused approach to operations

What You’ll Be Doing:
Engage with stakeholders across the business to understand:
How data is currently used
What challenges they face
Assess and improve data quality, structure and usability
Define:
What data is needed
Where it should be stored
How it should be structured
Support the migration of data from legacy systems into modern platforms
Work closely with development teams to:
Shape dashboards and reporting outputs
Ensure they reflect business needs accurately
Act as a key link between business users and technical teams
Help drive consistency and clarity in how data is managed across the organisation
What We’re Looking For:
Core Skills & Experience
Experience in data analysis and business analysis roles
Proven experience working with messy, distributed or legacy data environments
Experience supporting data migration or transformation initiatives
Strong understanding of data quality and data structures
Ability to translate business requirements into clear data needs
Soft Skills
Naturally curious and eager to understand how things work
Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills
Comfortable speaking to a wide range of people across the business
Confident asking questions and challenging assumptions
A proactive problem solver with a “can-do” attitude
