Intermediate Business Analyst (Finance) - (CONTRACT)

Description

Key Responsibilities

• Business & Stakeholder Engagement

• Partner with Finance, IT, and Data teams to understand business needs and translate them into clear, actionable requirements

• Facilitate workshops, stakeholder interviews, and working sessions

• Act as the key liaison between business and technology teams

• Build strong relationships and manage stakeholder expectations effectively

Data & Impact Analysis

• Analyse data to identify trends, risks, and business impacts

• Assess upstream and downstream impacts of changes across the finance data ecosystem

• Ensure data integrity, reconciliation, and alignment across systems

Requirements & Analysis

• Elicit, analyse, and document business and functional requirements

• Ensure requirements are clear, testable, and traceable end-to-end

• Perform impact analysis across systems, processes, and data flows

• Structure complex problems into manageable components and solutions

Process Design & Continuous Improvement

• Document current (As-Is) and future-state (To-Be) processes

• Identify inefficiencies, control gaps, and improvement opportunities

• Recommend and support implementation of best-practice processes

• Contribute to ongoing optimisation of finance and reporting processes

Testing & Quality Assurance

• Define test scenarios, acceptance criteria, and success measures

• Lead User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business stakeholders

• Validate that solutions meet business, data, and reporting requirements

• Track and manage defects through to resolution

Key Requirements

Experience

• 5 years’ experience as a Business Analyst within Financial Services, Banking, or Insurance

• Proven experience working on finance-related projects

• Strong exposure to data analysis, system integration, and end-to-end delivery
