[What you will be working on]

As An UX Designer Supporting Family Life Group’s (FLG) Product Portfolio, You Will Drive End-to-end User Experience Work Across Two Digital Services

• a digital marriage registration portal, and

• a family counselling portal.

You will work upstream to understand user needs through research and discovery, and translate insights into clear, testable design solutions in partnership with Product Managers and engineering teams.

• Discovery & User Research

• Together with the Product team, plan and run discovery activities (e.g., interviews, workshops, surveys) to understand user needs and pain points across the digital marriage registration and family counselling portals.

• Conduct user research and concept validation (moderated and unmoderated) and capture evidence-based findings.

• Synthesise research outputs into clear insights, problem statements, and opportunity areas that inform product direction and prioritisation.

• Interaction Design & Prototyping

• Translate insights into user journeys, user flows, information architecture, and interaction patterns.

• Create wireframes and prototypes (low- to high-fidelity) to communicate design intent and support delivery.

• Work with product managers, business owners and engineering partners implement designs.

• Iteration, Quality & Outcomes

• Iterate designs based on analytics and reported user feedback and track UX issues observed during delivery and post-release for continuous improvement.

• Drive design quality through clear specifications, consistency, accessibility considerations, and pragmatic handover artefacts.

• Contribute to strategic design initiatives that advance FLG portfolio outcomes (e.g., clearer service journeys, reduced user effort, improved completion).

What we expect from you

You are a key contributing member of the product team. You are expected to work with autonomy, consistently deliver high-quality outcomes, and collaborate effectively with Product Managers, engineers, and business stakeholders.

Scope & direction

• Lead key design workstreams within a project, making day-to-day decisions that align with user needs and product goals.

• Work independently from defined problem to solution options, engaging the right partners when decisions affect scope, risk, or cross-team dependencies.

• Support team capability by coaching junior designers through constructive feedback and shared practices.

Craft & execution

• Apply best practices in problem-solving and solution development, using evidence, iteration, and testing to validate outcomes.

• Produce accessible and coherent designs within product, service, and operational constraints.

• Make sound trade-offs in moderately complex situations and explain decisions using evidence; use AI-assisted tools with critical judgement.

Ownership

• Own assigned tasks and projects end-to-end, including quality of outputs and clarity of handover.

• Identify and address issues proactively with minimal guidance, and know when to escalate or ask for help.

• Identify opportunities and recommend next steps to improve processes or outcomes within your work area.

Strategic alignment

• Align your work with team goals, product OKRs, and agreed priorities; focus on tasks that deliver the highest expected value.

• Adapt to changing priorities independently, while keeping the team informed of impact to scope, timelines, or risks.

Culture & organisational influence

• Collaborate constructively with peers and stakeholders to ensure work is executed effectively end-to-end.

• Address minor conflicts respectfully and early, focusing on shared outcomes.

• Share knowledge, resources, and learnings (including successes and failures) to strengthen team capability and improve how we work

Who you’ll be working with:

• You’ll report to the lead product manager

• On a day to day, you’ll be embedded in product teams working with business, product manager and engineering to ensure designs solve business problems and progress product OKR’s.

[What we are looking for]

UX Craft (Core Requirements)

• End-to-end UX capability: discovery → synthesis → design → testing → iteration.

• Interaction design strength: produce user journeys/flows, wireframes, and prototypes at the right fidelity for the stage.

• Expertise in tools of the trade – Figma, Maze etc

• Ability to plan and conduct interviews/workshops/surveys/usability tests; translate findings into actionable insights.

Strong plus

• Demonstrated experience in UX “vibe coding” / rapid prototyping approaches (e.g., AI-assisted or low/no-code tools), as there will be upcoming initiatives in this area.

Context fit

• Comfort supporting multiple products within the FLG portfolio as priorities shift.
