Senior Motion Graphics Designer

Our client is seeking a highly talented and innovative Senior Motion Graphics Designer to join their creative studio. This role requires a masterful command of animation principles, visual storytelling, and cutting-edge motion design software to produce compelling and engaging visual content. You will be responsible for conceptualizing, designing, and executing high-quality motion graphics for a variety of projects, including marketing campaigns, explainer videos, social media content, and internal communications. The ideal candidate possesses a strong artistic eye, technical proficiency, and the ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced creative environment located in the heart of the Kitchener-Waterloo region.

Key Responsibilities:
Conceptualize, design, and produce high-quality motion graphics and animations for a diverse range of media. Develop storyboards, style frames, and animatics to visualize concepts and communicate design direction. Create engaging 2D and 3D animations, character animations, kinetic typography, and visual effects. Operate and master industry-standard software such as Adobe After Effects, Premiere Pro, Cinema 4D, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Collaborate closely with art directors, creative directors, video producers, and clients to understand project objectives and translate them into effective visual solutions. Ensure all motion graphics align with brand identity, style guides, and project requirements. Manage multiple projects simultaneously, meeting deadlines while maintaining a high standard of quality. Stay current with the latest trends and advancements in motion graphics, animation, and visual effects. Optimize motion graphics for various platforms and formats, including web, broadcast, and social media. Provide creative input and feedback during internal reviews and client presentations. Troubleshoot technical issues related to animation and rendering. Contribute to the development of innovative visual concepts and storytelling techniques.

Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Fine Arts, Graphic Design, Animation, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience. A minimum of 5-7 years of professional experience as a Motion Graphics Designer, with a strong portfolio showcasing exceptional work. Advanced proficiency in Adobe After Effects, including expressions and plugins. Proficiency in Adobe Premiere Pro, Illustrator, and Photoshop. Experience with 3D software like Cinema 4D, Blender, or Maya is highly desirable. Strong understanding of animation principles, timing, and visual storytelling. Excellent aesthetic sense, including color theory, composition, and typography. Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented studio environment. Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects and tight deadlines. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Detail-oriented with a commitment to producing polished, professional results.
