Job description

Sr Manager of Digital Marketing & E-commerce

Hours: 20-25 per week
Location: NYC preferred but open to remote

Our client is seeking a strategic and hands-on Sr Manager of Digital Marketing & E-commerce to help lead direct-to-consumer growth during a key parental leave coverage period. This freelance role will oversee the brand’s digital commerce performance across the full funnel, with a strong focus on revenue growth, customer acquisition, retention, and on-site conversion. Reporting to the VP of Marketing, this person will play a critical role in driving DTC sales through integrated channel strategy, site optimization, and performance marketing leadership.

The ideal candidate brings deep experience in beauty, skincare, cosmetics, or body care e-commerce, along with a sharp analytical mindset and the ability to move fluidly between strategy and execution. This is an opportunity for a growth-oriented leader who can manage agency partners, optimize channel performance, and build strong cross-functional alignment in a fast-paced brand environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Own DTC sales performance and site growth metrics across the full customer journey.

  • Develop and manage demand planning and the promotional calendar to support revenue goals.

  • Establish and track monthly performance targets including conversion rate, average order value, and units per transaction.

  • Identify friction points and optimization opportunities across the website and checkout flow to improve conversion.

  • Partner cross-functionally to create compelling DTC-exclusive experiences, offers, and incentives that drive purchase intent.

  • Lead lifecycle and retention marketing strategy across email, SMS, loyalty, referral, and CRM programs.

  • Manage paid media agency relationships and oversee performance across acquisition channels.

  • Build and refine paid media strategies to efficiently drive new customer growth while meeting CAC and ROAS goals.

  • Oversee digital marketing budgets and report on performance metrics including CAC, CVR, ROAS, AOV, UPT, and LTV.

  • Grow and optimize the affiliate channel to deliver incremental sales and customer acquisition.

  • Own campaign execution from planning through reporting, including creative coordination, targeting, segmentation, testing, and analysis.

  • Use analytics tools and platform data to generate actionable insights and continuously improve channel performance.

  • Support team leadership, including direct oversight of Email/CRM and collaboration with external partners as the business evolves.

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of full-time experience leading e-commerce and growth marketing for high-growth beauty, skincare, cosmetics, or body care brands.

  • Demonstrated success driving DTC customer acquisition and revenue growth through performance marketing and retention initiatives.

  • Experience launching, managing, and scaling Tik

Tok Shop.

  • Strong command of Shopify, Klaviyo, and Google Analytics.

  • Hands-on experience with Meta Ads Manager, Tik

Tok Ads Manager, Google Ads, and affiliate platforms such as Impact preferred.

  • Strong understanding of A/B testing, conversion optimization, and data-driven decision making.

  • Proven ability to manage agencies, budgets, competing priorities, and changing business needs.

  • Highly organized, self-directed, detail-oriented, and comfortable operating in a fast-paced environment.
