Superior Skilled Trades is seeking a Lead Structured Cabling Installer and a Security & Access Control Lead Technician for immediate start opportunities in the Brevard County / Greater Orlando, FL area!
- PAY: $30–$40/hr. (based on experience)
- PER DIEM: None
- HOURS: 8–10-hour shifts starting at 7:00 AM
- SCHEDULE: Monday–Friday; approximately 40–50 hours/week

Lead Structured Cabling Installer Job Description
The Lead Structured Cabling Installer will oversee and execute the installation of copper and fiber optic cabling infrastructure on commercial and government projects throughout Brevard County and the Greater Orlando area. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring advanced technical expertise, strong project coordination skills, and the ability to mentor and direct field crews while serving as a client-facing representative.
Qualifications for Lead Structured Cabling Installer
- BICSI Installer 2 – Copper certification required
- BICSI Installer 2 – Fiber Optic certification required
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a lead or supervisory structured cabling role
- Minimum 7+ years of structured cabling field experience
- Expert-level experience with Cat6, Cat6A, and Cat8 copper termination, testing, and certification
- Expert-level experience with single-mode and multi-mode fiber splicing, termination, and OTDR testing
- Proficiency using Fluke DSX, OptiFiber Pro, or equivalent testing equipment
- Strong knowledge of TIA-568, TIA-569, TIA-606 standards, and NEC cabling requirements
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, riser diagrams, project scopes, and construction documents
- Experience leading crews of 3–10 technicians
- Strong communication and client-facing skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record
Additional Requirements for Lead Structured Cabling Installer
- Must be able to safely use hand and power tools and wear PPE
- Must be able to perform job duties requiring standing, climbing ladders, crouching, working at heights, and lifting up to 50 lbs. unassisted
- Experience with healthcare, government, or DoD projects is a plus
- OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 certification preferred
- BICSI RCDD certification or actively pursuing certification preferred
Security & Access Control Lead Technician Job Description
The Security & Access Control Lead Technician will oversee the installation, programming, commissioning, and servicing of commercial security systems including CCTV/IP video surveillance, access control, intrusion detection, and related low-voltage infrastructure. This role serves as the department's technical lead while managing field crews, supporting project estimating, and maintaining strong client relationships.
Qualifications for Security & Access Control Lead Technician
- Florida Alarm System Agent License (FASA) required
- Florida BASA license or equivalent Florida-recognized alarm licensing required
- Minimum 5 years of hands-on experience installing and servicing commercial security, surveillance, and access control systems
- Experience leading field crews or working in a lead/supervisory role
- Strong experience with IP-based camera systems, NVR/DVR platforms, and VMS software
- Experience programming and administering access control systems
- Strong understanding of low-voltage wiring practices, TCP/IP networking, VLANs, and PoE systems
- Ability to troubleshoot complex security and access control systems
- Experience performing site surveys, security assessments, and project documentation
- Strong client-facing communication and leadership skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams, SharePoint)
- Valid Florida driver's license with a clean driving record
Additional Requirements for Security & Access Control Lead Technician:
- Must be able to safely use hand and power tools and wear PPE

- Experience with Avigilon, Lenel, Genetec, Milestone, Brivo, Bosch, Honeywell, DSC, DMP, or similar platforms preferred

- Experience with government facilities, healthcare environments, or public safety systems preferred
