Position Summary
New York University Abu Dhabi (NYUAD) seeks to appoint an Assistant Director of Admissions Operations, reporting to the Executive Director, Recruitment, Admissions and Financial Aid.
As an operations leader based in Abu Dhabi, the Assistant Director will oversee the operational functions of data systems used by the Office of Undergraduate Admissions, ensuring data consistency and adherence to university reporting requirements. The role requires experience in CRM software (Technologies: Slate) and data manipulation, with strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage technical systems that house data of inquiries, applicants, and organizations;
- Ensure operational systems support recruitment, institutional positioning, diversity and inclusion, and customer service goals;
- Provide technical and operational support for all functions of the NYUAD Office of Undergraduate Admissions, including recruitment, evaluation, admissions events, and marketing;
- Evaluate and recommend system enhancements in collaboration with Senior Leadership;
- Stay abreast of new technological advances and propose implementations;
- Integrate new developments or functionality into systems, ensuring they meet user and stakeholder needs;
- Identify and resolve technical issues, serving as the first line of defense for super‑users and end‑users;
- Lead system and user acceptance testing of new builds and configuration items;
- Develop process documentation and train Admissions and outreach staff on system usage and functionality;
- Attend conferences to learn best practices in university admission system operations.
- Manage data reporting for senior leadership, government bodies, and stakeholders in compliance with Enrollment Management policies;
- Provide scheduled and ad hoc data reporting and meet future demand for data;
- Liaise with tri‑campus university offices, NYUAD campus partners, and external suppliers to establish protocols and resolve problems;
- Serve as liaison for NYU Institutional Research and other University offices to ensure data requirements are met;
- Report on recruitment efforts and applicant status;
- Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure data consistency and adherence to University requirements.
- Oversee processing of undergraduate admissions applications throughout the cycle in coordination with the Admissions team and Operations team in New York;
- Answer emails and process applicant documents to facilitate the admissions process;
- Make procedural exceptions (e.g., extend deadlines, waive fees) when necessary;
- Develop and implement policies and procedures with Senior Leadership to ensure smooth operations and deadlines are met;
- Participate in recruitment, evaluation, and yield activities as needed.
Required Education
- Bachelor's Degree in a related field (preferred).
Required Experience
- 3+ years supervising daily business operations or equivalent combination of education and experience;
- Experience using Technolutions Slate CRM software and data manipulation, with complex data entry and quality data reporting to senior leadership;
- Good understanding of how to utilize Slate CRM across the institution;
- Ability to collaborate with multiple stakeholders;
- Creative problem‑solving skills, initiative, and excitement about leveraging Slate CRM;
- Adaptability to change and ability to work quickly and nimble;
- Skills to maintain high data integrity;
- Ability to evaluate and configure CRM systems, provide end‑user documentation;
- Technical support skills for end‑users, diagnosing and resolving problems.
Preferred Education
- Master's Degree in data science, UX, information technology.
Preferred Experience
- Familiarity with Slate online admissions system and international application documentation;
- Excellent business analysis and problem‑solving skills;
- Analytical thinking and strong communication of complex concepts.
