Data Analyst (SQL)

Required Skills & QualificationsStrong hands-on experience with Microsoft SQL Server (2016/2017/2019/2022)Proven expertise in Windows Server administration (2016/2019/2022)Deep understanding of Query optimization and execution plans, Indexing and performance tuning techniques & TempDB configuration and memory managementSolid experience with Windows Server Failover Clustering (installation, configuration, and troubleshooting)Strong knowledge of OS-level performance tuning (CPU, memory, disk, networking)Experience with backup and recovery tools (native and enterprise solutions such as Veeam is a plus)Familiarity with monitoring tools (e.g., SCOM, SQL monitoring platforms)Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills across both database and infrastructure layersExperience with PowerShell scripting and automationResponsibilitiesInstall, configure, and maintain Microsoft SQL Server instances across Development, Testing, and Production environmentsManage and optimize database performance, including indexing strategies, query tuning, and execution plan analysisMonitor overall system health (database and OS) and proactively resolve performance bottlenecksDesign, implement, and support High Availability and Disaster Recovery solutions,Administer and troubleshoot Windows Server environments supporting SQL Server workloadsPlan, implement, and manage backup and recovery strategies (Full, Differential, Transaction Logs)Perform database and OS patching, upgrades, and migrations (e.g., SQL Server 2017 → 2022)Troubleshoot Implement and maintain database security (logins, roles, encryption, auditing)Collaborate with infrastructure teams on OS tuning, storage performance, and capacity planningSupport Disaster Recovery planning, testing, and failover readinessAutomate administrative and operational tasks using PowerShell, T-SQL, and SQL Agent JobsPerform root cause analysis (RCA) for incidents and drive preventive and corrective action
