This executive leader will oversee all aspects of company operations, drive profitability, build high-performing teams, and execute strategic growth initiatives.
The ideal candidate combines strong operational discipline with entrepreneurial leadership and has a track record of scaling HVAC service, maintenance, retrofit, and installation operations. This individual will work closely with ownership to develop a succession plan and transition into broader executive responsibilities.
Key ResponsibilitiesLeadership & StrategyPartner with ownership to develop and execute the company's strategic vision and growth initiatives.
Lead daily operations while establishing long-term plans for expansion, market share growth, and profitability.
Build a culture of accountability, performance, customer service excellence, and employee engagement.
Serve as a key decision-maker and trusted advisor to ownership on business strategy and investments.
Prepare for progressive transition into CEO-level responsibilities.
Operational ManagementOversee service, installation, maintenance, sales, dispatch, customer service, and administrative functions.
Ensure operational efficiency, workforce productivity, and service excellence.
Implement KPIs and performance metrics across all departments.
Optimize scheduling, labor utilization, fleet management, and operational workflows.
Drive continuous improvement initiatives to increase margins and customer satisfaction.
Financial LeadershipOwn P&L performance and accountability.
Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
Analyze business performance metrics and implement corrective actions when needed.
Manage pricing strategies, labor costs, overhead expenses, and profitability targets.
Collaborate with accounting and finance teams to improve cash flow and financial controls.
Sales & Business DevelopmentSupport and mentor sales leadership to drive revenue growth.
Identify opportunities for market expansion, acquisitions, partnerships, and strategic initiatives.
Strengthen customer retention and recurring revenue programs.
Develop relationships with key commercial, industrial, and residential clients.
Talent DevelopmentRecruit, mentor, and retain top-performing leaders and employees.
Build leadership bench strength and succession plans throughout the organization.
Establish performance management systems and leadership development programs.

Required Qualifications10+ years of progressive leadership experience within the HVAC industry.
Minimum 5 years in a senior leadership role such as General Manager, Operations Manager, Vice President, Branch Manager, or Director of Operations.
Experience leading a small to mid-sized HVAC contractor or service organization ($10M-$75M+ revenue preferred).
Proven P&L management experience.
Strong knowledge of HVAC service, maintenance, installation, dispatch, sales, and field operations.
Demonstrated success growing revenue, improving margins, and scaling operations.
Experience developing and leading management teams.
Strong financial acumen and business management skills.
Excellent communication, leadership, and relationship-building abilities.
Preferred QualificationsExperience preparing an organization for significant growth, acquisition, or succession planning.
Background in both residential and commercial HVAC operations.
MBA or related business degree preferred but not required.
Experience implementing operational systems, KPIs, and process improvements.
Private equity-backed or founder-led business experience is a plus.
