Managing Director – Italy

Quest Search & Selection are currently looking for a commercially driven Managing Director as part of a scale-up operation to lead the launch, growth, and long-term expansion of a tech, scale up Direct-to-Consumer in Italy.

The business is for a e-commerce platform. Their advanced technology offers fast and reliable delivery services. With 1st class, supply chain at its core & cutting-edge digital solutions, this business is renowned for its innovation and excellence, all within a start-up culture.

The roles & responsibilities of this Managing Director – Italy role:

Define and deliver the Italy market strategy aligned with global growth plans.

Identify and develop high-value opportunities across retail, logistics, supply chain, and partnerships.

Lead market analysis and competitive positioning to grow eCommerce presence.

Drive revenue growth through brand, merchant, and supplier partnerships.

Own budgets, forecasting, and P&L performance for Italy.

Drive profitability, investment planning, and capital allocation.

Build and lead a high-performing leadership team.

Ensure full regulatory compliance and risk management.

Represent the business in external stakeholder and government engagements.

The qualifications of this Managing Director – Italy role:

Ideally having experience in eCommerce, Retail, marketplace or technology-enabled businesses.

Has operated at a Senior leadership level or MD, Commercial, Trading Director, or Country Leadership level.

Has strong B2C / eCommerce or trading experience within retail FMCG or general merchandise environments.

Has a proven track record within scale-up or high-growth tech businesses.

Has experience delivering commercial growth across Italy or wider Europe.

Is fluent in Italian and English.
