DescriptionThe Business Intelligence Analyst is part of the Data Analytics team and partners closely with Operating Companies and Finance to track operations and analyze data trends to support strategic business decisions. This position will develop new reports as well as support routine maintenance for existing reports. Additionally, this position will implement reporting from new or existing datasets and ensure data integrity in daily operations. This position will work with internal and external customers to support business intelligence and data analytics initiatives.
This position will travel approximately 10% of the time.
Key ResponsibilitiesDesign, build and maintain data models, reporting systems, data automationsystems, dashboards and performance metrics that support key businessdecisions.
Oversee new dataset creation and ensure compatibility through architecturalstructure.
Write scripts to make API calls and retrieve data for analysis and reportingWrite and interpret SQL queries for data extraction and analysisGenerate automated multi-page reports that refresh based on a set schedule.
Provide routine support for all companies’ business intelligence needs.
Organize and drive successful completion of data insight initiatives through effective people and resource management, communication, and collaboration with stakeholders.
Maintain existing reports while improving or redesigning them when they no longer meet performance, usability or business needsRequirementsSkills & Abilities:
Ability to read, analyze and interpret complex technical documents.
Exceptional verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Ability to present information effectively and persuasively.
Organizes and prioritizes critical tasks to meet project timelines. Identifies resources required to complete tasks and escalates issues when conflicts occur.
Ability to make sound judgments and take the initiative to establish priorities, meet deadlines, and make decisions within the functional area of responsibility with minimal direct supervision.
Ability to work with customers to frame project implementations.
Education & ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Data Analytics, Computer Science, Finance, Accounting, Math, Economics, or related field.
Understanding of business operations fundamentals and workflow.
Experience with database management and architecture.
Marine and/or Manufacturing experience preferred. Experience with cloud development and data infrastructure preferred. Proficiency with Microsoft Power BI, Excel, and Smartsheet.
