The OpportunityWe are seeking a Process Engineering Manager to play a highly visible and impactful role within the organization. This individual will sit at the intersection of engineering, quality, and operations, supporting New Product Introduction (NPI) while driving process integrity, compliance, and execution.
This is an especially exciting opportunity as this role will help build and shape a newly formed NPI team and department. The person in this position will have the chance to influence structure, processes, and best practices from the ground up.
This is not a purely technical or back-office roleāthis person will be deeply involved in day-to-day operations, working cross-functionally with internal teams and customers to ensure smooth product launches, accurate documentation, and high-quality output.
The role reports directly to the VP of NPI and offers significant ownership, visibility, and the ability to make a lasting impact across the business.
Team & Leadership ScopeThis role will have direct leadership responsibility for a team of 6 Document Specialists and an R&D Specialist, requiring strong delegation, mentorship, and the ability to drive accountability across documentation and engineering support functions.
Key ResponsibilitiesProcess Engineering & Change ManagementOwn and manage Engineering Change Notices (ECNs) from initiation through completionAssess required changes, track status, and communicate updates to stakeholdersEnsure alignment between engineering, production, quality, and documentationBOM & ERP ManagementPerform Bill of Material (BOM) audits on new and active jobs to identify discrepanciesExecute BOM updates within the ERP system across jobs, quotes, and templatesEnsure accuracy to prevent delays during pilot and production phasesQuality, Compliance & AuditsCoordinate and support UL audits (UL 508A) with Field EngineersLead containment and corrective actions for any non-conformancesMaintain communication between UL, customers, and internal teamsManage calibration tracking and compliance for tools and equipmentPartner closely with quality teams to ensure adherence to internal and external standardsCustomer & Cross-Functional CollaborationServe as a liaison between customers and internal teamsSupport customer requests for quality documentation (FAIRs, CoCs, testing certifications)Partner with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve issues and improve processesDocumentation & TrainingDevelop and maintain work instructions and process documentationLead training efforts on testing procedures and process standardsOversee document control processes and delegate effectively to document specialistsQualificationsRequired4+ years of experience in manufacturing, process engineering, or quality environmentsStrong understanding of BOM structures and ERP systemsAbility to read and interpret electrical schematics and technical drawingsExperience in fast-paced manufacturing environmentsStrong attention to detail and organizational skillsAbility to manage multiple priorities and drive executionPreferredExperience with UL standards (UL 508A), audits, or related compliance environments (formal licensing not required)Exposure to quality systems or a background that includes quality/process improvement initiativesLeadership or supervisory experience (training, delegation, mentoring)Experience supporting NPI or production environmentsWhy Youāll Love It HereRare opportunity to build and shape a brand-new NPI functionHigh-impact role with ownership of day-to-day operationsAbility to operate like a site leader / mini-GMBlend of engineering, quality, operations, and leadership responsibilityEstablished company with a strong reputation and continued growthCollaborative, quality-driven, process-focused environmentClear path for growth into senior leadership roles
