Data AnalystInitial 4 month contractSydney CBDPosition SummaryThe Data Analyst will design, develop, and maintain enterprise data models and advanced analytical solutions. The ideal candidate will bridge the gap between complex raw data structures and intuitive reporting. They will ensure high data quality by reconciling information across diverse data sources into a centralized semantic layer. They will also build insightful reporting tools to drive data-led business decisions.
Key ResponsibilitiesData Engineering & Semantic ModellingData Integration: Extract, transform, and integrate complex data from multiple source systems into a unified reporting ecosystem.
Model Optimization: Build, scale, and optimize enterprise-grade SSAS Tabular Models.
Data Reconciliation: Establish automated validation routines to check data quality, cross-reference multiple source systems, and ensure absolute data integrity.
Power BI & Front-End DeliveryDashboard Development: Design and deploy high-impact Power BI reports, interactive dashboards, and monitoring tools.
User Experience (UX) Enhancement: Format model structures and simplify user navigation so business leaders can easily discover insights.
Metric Customisation: Write complex DAX (Data Analysis Expressions) metrics to measure key business performance indicators.
Governance, Documentation & Process ImprovementTransformation Rules: Document end-to-end data transformation logic, field source mappings, and pipeline workflows.
Technical Writing: Author clear technical architecture designs and support documentation for both developers and business users.
Continuous Improvement: Refine existing reporting workflows to cut down processing delays and increase reporting efficiency.
Key Skills & QualificationsEducation: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Analytics, Information Systems, or a related field.
Data Modeling: Strong experience building SSAS Tabular Models and working with DAX, star schemas, and relationship management.
BI Tools: Advanced proficiency in the Microsoft Power BI Desktop ecosystem, Power BI Service, and Power Query.
SQL Skills: Strong relational database knowledge to query, trace, and audit source system data.
Attention to Detail: Proven track record of handling data mapping, quality checks, and technical documentation.
