Project Manager (New Product Development)

We are seeking a Freelance Project Manager to support new product development within the beauty and personal care industry. This role is ideal for a highly organized, detail-oriented professional who thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment and enjoys guiding innovative products from concept to launch. Key Responsibilities
- Lead cross-functional project execution across product development, packaging, regulatory, operations, supply chain, marketing, creative, sales, finance, and external partners.
- Manage projects from concept through commercialization, ensuring milestones, deliverables, dependencies, and approvals stay on track.
- Facilitate project kickoffs, status meetings, milestone reviews, and launch readiness meetings while documenting key actions and decisions.
- Coordinate regulatory review timelines and cross-functional approvals to support domestic and international compliance requirements.
- Identify project risks early, communicate challenges clearly, and develop mitigation and contingency plans with stakeholders.
- Track critical path activities and escalate schedule concerns when needed to protect launch timing.
- Provide leadership with clear, concise status updates, progress reporting, and project visibility.
- Coordinate packaging, formulation, testing, artwork, claims, and commercialization activities for seamless execution.
- Partner with operations and supply chain teams to support launch planning, inventory readiness, and manufacturing timelines.
- Maintain accurate project documentation, timelines, trackers, and workflow systems to ensure accountability and data integrity.
Qualifications
- 4+ years of project management experience within beauty, skincare, personal care, wellness, or a related consumer products industry.
- Proven success managing cross-functional projects with multiple stakeholders and competing priorities.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and follow-through.
- Experience overseeing timelines, dependencies, approvals, and launch milestones in a product development environment.
- Ability to identify risks, solve problems proactively, and keep teams aligned on deliverables.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to present updates clearly to both team members and leadership.
- Comfort working in a remote environment and collaborating across functions.
Preferred Background
- Experience supporting new product launches, reformulations, packaging updates, or artwork changes.
- Familiarity with regulatory review processes and commercialization workflows.
