As we continue to grow, we are looking for an experienced Business Development Manager to help us identify new opportunities, build strong client relationships, and expand our portfolio of clients in Singapore.
About the Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for driving revenue growth for Mustard Seed Digital by identifying new business opportunities, developing client relationships, and promoting the agency’s creative, digital, performance marketing, and marketing technology solutions.
This role is ideal for someone who understands B2B consultative selling and is comfortable speaking to business owners, marketing leaders, corporate decision-makers, and brand teams. You should be able to uncover client needs, recommend suitable marketing solutions, prepare proposals, and work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth delivery and client satisfaction.
You will play a key role in helping MSD grow its client base while strengthening its positioning as a creative-performance agency in Singapore.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Revenue Growth
- Identify, develop, and pursue new business opportunities for Mustard Seed Digital
- Achieve agreed revenue and gross profit targets
- Build and manage strong relationships with prospects, clients, partners, and business networks
- Promote MSD’s digital marketing, creative, content, performance marketing, and marketing technology solutions
- Develop sales strategies to support business growth and profitability
- Prepare sales forecasts, proposals, quotations, and client presentations
- Participate in networking sessions, exhibitions, industry events, and business development activities where required
- Monitor market trends, competitor activities, and client needs
- Conduct market research to identify new opportunities and growth segments
- Maintain strong client relationships to support repeat business and long-term account growth
Client Engagement & Solution Selling
- Conduct client discovery sessions to understand business objectives, marketing challenges, and growth needs
- Recommend suitable solutions such as social media management, content marketing, performance marketing, branding, website development, CRM, marketing automation, and campaign support
- Present proposals and marketing solutions clearly and confidently
- Work with internal teams to ensure proposed solutions are realistic, relevant, and commercially viable
- Support client satisfaction by maintaining strong communication before and after project confirmation
- Help clients understand how MSD’s creative-performance approach can support their business goals
Internal Coordination & Delivery Support
- Work closely with the Accounts, Creative, Performance Marketing, and Operations teams to ensure smooth client onboarding and delivery
- Support proper handover from sales to account servicing or project teams
- Monitor client feedback and assist in resolving service or delivery issues where required
- Provide market and client insights to improve MSD’s service offerings
- Support process improvements to strengthen business development and client management
- Ensure business activities comply with company policies and relevant regulations, including PDPA requirements
What We Are Looking For
The ideal candidate should have
- Proven experience in business development, sales, account management, or client acquisition
- Experience selling digital marketing, creative, advertising, media, branding, SaaS, consulting, or other B2B professional services
- Strong understanding of digital marketing solutions such as social media marketing, content marketing, performance marketing, paid advertising, SEO, websites, branding, CRM, or marketing automation
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills
- Ability to understand client needs and translate them into practical business and marketing solutions
- Confidence in managing the full sales cycle from prospecting to proposal, negotiation, and closing
- Strong commercial sense and ability to work towards revenue and profitability targets
- Good relationship-building skills with the ability to maintain long-term client trust
- Ability to work independently while collaborating closely with internal teams
- Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple leads, proposals, and client discussions at the same time
Preferred Experience
We are especially interested in candidates who have
- Existing B2B business development experience in Singapore
- Experience in a digital agency, creative agency, media agency, marketing consultancy, or related business
- A network of business contacts, marketing decision-makers, or potential client leads
- Experience preparing pitch decks, proposals, quotations, and commercial scopes
- Confidence speaking with SME owners, corporate marketing teams, and senior decision-makers
- A good understanding of how creative work, content, paid media, and marketing technology come together to support business growth
