Chief of Staff for Human Resources - San Francisco Department of Public Health (Manager II 0923)

The Chief of Staff for Human Resources (HR) partners with the DPH HR Leadership Team to advance HR’s strategic vision to improve the delivery of programs and services for DPH employees. They will help the DPH Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) prepare materials for meetings and supervise hiring processes for the HR positions. They will also organize and facilitate meetings on behalf of the CHRO, as well as lead and support overall human resources projects.

Specifically, under general direction from the CHRO, the Chief of Staff for HR will:

• Manage communication to and from the CHRO’s Office.
• Attend meetings to take notes, track and monitor action items, and create presentations.
• Manage the implementation of strategic initiatives from development through execution.
• Anticipate, address, and resolve employee concerns by using strong diplomatic and problem-solving skills.
• Aid in policy development by providing senior HR leadership with insight and analysis of DPH HR operations.
• The Chief of Staff may perform other duties as assigned/required.
