Major League Baseball is seeking a Senior Accountant who will be a key member of the General Accounting team responsible for account reconciliations, month-end general ledger close, and bank reconciliations. The Senior Accountant will assist in the preparation of monthly journal entries, daily cash files, bank reconciliations, approval of invoices, and general ledger analysis.
ResponsibilitiesAnalyze and reconcile general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and compliance with internal controls and GAAPPrepare monthly journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliationsPerform monthly bank reconciliations and resolve discrepancies in a timely mannerManage and maintain fixed assets records, including additions, disposals, and depreciation schedulesAssist with month-end and year-end close processes.
Support external audits by providing necessary documentation and analysisContinuously improve processes for efficiency, accuracy, and automationCollaborate cross-functionally with other departments to ensure financial accuracy and alignmentQualifications & SkillsBachelor’s degree in accounting (CPA Preferred)Minimum 5 years of relevant accounting experienceStrong understanding of GAAP and internal control frameworkAdvanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP, pivot tables, formulas)Able to work effectively under pressure from management deadlinesAble to pivot between competing priorities.
Experience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle)Strong analytical skills and detail orientedEffective communication skills and ability to work well in a team-oriented environmentSalary Range: $90,000 - $120,000 (Base Salary) + BonusAs a candidate for this position, your salary and related aspects of compensation will be contingent upon your work experience, education, skills, and any other factors MLB considers relevant to the hiring decision.
