Senior General Ledger Accountant (Contract)

We are partnering with a client seeking a strong Senior GL Accountant for a temporary, fully remote engagement. This opportunity is expected to start as a 1-month assignment, with potential for extension based on business needs.

The primary focus of this role will be supporting balance sheet reconciliations and payroll-related liability accounts leading into the client’s fiscal year-end close.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and clean up balance sheet reconciliations
• Reconcile payroll-related liability accounts, including:
• Payroll taxes
• Benefits payable
• 403(b) accounts
• HSA/FSA accounts
• Related year-end accruals
• Assist with month-end and year-end close activities
• Identify and resolve outstanding GL reconciliation issues
• Work heavily within Excel to organize, analyze, and reconcile financial data

Additional Details

• Fully remote opportunity
• Target start date: Mid-June
• Initial duration: Approximately 1 month, with potential for extension following a mid-July evaluation
• Pay rate: $45-50/hour

Ideal Background

• Strong general ledger and reconciliation experience
• Experience supporting month-end and year-end close
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, cleanup-focused environment
• Advanced Excel skills preferred
• Prior payroll liability reconciliation experience strongly preferred
