RECEPTIONIST (Part Time)
Job Summary: The front desk person will help create a welcoming culture by greeting guests professionally and warmly. The front desk person will also support the smooth running of the facility by providing administrative support to the program.
Reports To: Shift Supervisor
Location: 876 Schenck Avenue, Brooklyn, NY 11207
Hours: 15 - 20 Hr/Week
Schedule: Wed - Fri, 5pm - 8pm & Sat, 9am - 3pm
Major Duties
- Create a welcoming environment for youth, families, staff, and visitors alike.
- Greet and announce participants and guests upon arrival and direct them to the appropriate program or service.
- Maintain electronic and/or paper sign-in process.
- Answer and direct all incoming calls to the appropriate staff.
- Assist in the registration of program participants.
- Provide clerical support to center Directors including data entry, class registration, updating documents, etc.
- Assist as needed during special program and agency events.
- Conduct weekly outreach for program support.
- Update bulletin boards and flyers as needed.
- Manage center calendar and promote upcoming events using slideshow announcements and email.
- Send weekly and monthly newsletters.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED
- 1-year office experience required.
- Bilingual (English/Spanish) preferred.
- Business knowledge of Canva and Social Media preferred.
- Must have the ability to learn new technologies and systems.
- Must be proficient in Microsoft Office.
- Must have outstanding oral and written communication skills.
- Must have the ability to interact in a positive and courteous manner.
