We are seeking a reliable and experienced Collection and Delivery Owner Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for transporting goods efficiently and safely between various locations, ensuring timely deliveries and collections. Duties
- Collect goods from designated warehouses or suppliers and deliver them to clients or other specified locations.
- Pick up items from clients or suppliers, ensuring accurate documentation and handling.
- Plan efficient routes to optimise delivery times and minimise fuel consumption.
- Conduct pre- and post-trip vehicle inspections to ensure safety and compliance with road regulations.
- Load and unload cargo, including heavy lifting when necessary, using appropriate equipment or techniques.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, collections, mileage, and vehicle maintenance.
- Communicate effectively with dispatch teams, clients, and colleagues regarding schedules, delays, or issues encountered during routes.
- Adhere strictly to health and safety policies whilst handling goods and operating vehicles.
Skills
- Proven experience as a delivery driver, preferably within a commercial or logistics environment.
- Valid driver’s licence with a clean driving record.
- Experience in commercial driving, demonstrating safe driving practices over long distances.
- Previous warehouse experience is advantageous for understanding loading procedures and inventory management.
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when handling goods or equipment.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with clients and team members.
- Organised approach to route planning and time management to ensure punctual deliveries.
- Strong organisational skills with attention to detail in documentation and vehicle maintenance records.
