Full-Time Teaching Assistant

From £92.63 per day

Are you a compassionate and resilient Teaching Assistant who thrives on building positive relationships with young people? We are looking for a dedicated individual to provide 1:1 support for a Year 7 pupil with SEMH (Social, Emotional and Mental Health) needs and complex learning needs within a welcoming all-through special school. This is a highly rewarding role where you'll play a key part in helping a young person build confidence and achieve success. Duties include

• Providing consistent 1:1 support for a Year 7 pupil with SEMH and complex needs.
• Building a trusting and positive relationship with the student.
• Supporting emotional regulation, engagement, and participation throughout the school day.
• Encouraging independence, social development, and positive behaviour.
• Responding calmly and effectively to challenging situations when they arise.

The successful candidate will have

• Previous experience supporting children or young people with SEMH, complex needs, or other SEND needs.
• A patient, empathetic, and resilient approach.
• Strong behaviour management skills and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• A genuine passion for helping young people overcome barriers to learning and achieve their goals.
• Relevant Teaching Assistant or SEND qualifications are desirable but not essential.
