Technical Product Manager, Data & Internal Products | Remote (US) | $180K–$230K + Equity - 27778985
I'm partnering with one of the most technically respected companies in fintech to find a rare kind of product manager — one who started as an engineer, thinks in data pipelines, and has the startup DNA to thrive in a fast-moving, deeply cross-functional environment.
This is a Forbes Fintech 50 company backed by $85M from Andreessen Horowitz, Craft Ventures, and NYCA Partners. Their APIs have verified hundreds of millions of identities for the largest US banks, credit unions, and fintech unicorns in the country. They made history as the first eCBSV provider and have appeared on the Forbes Fintech 50 every year since 2023. The product function reports directly to the CEO. The bar is high — and the opportunity matches it.
If you're a technically rooted PM who has worked in data infrastructure or internal tooling at a startup and you're tired of being the most technical person in a room full of traditional PMs, this is the role.
What You'll Do
- Own the roadmap and execution for data and internal products — working directly alongside engineering and data science teams to build systems that power one of the most sophisticated identity verification platforms in the industry
- Drive strategy for large-scale data pipelines, internal tooling, and data platform initiatives — from ingestion and normalization through modeling and delivery
- Partner deeply with engineering and data science to translate complex technical requirements into prioritized, well-scoped roadmap items
- Operate as an individual contributor reporting to the Principal Product Manager, with direct visibility into the product function's leadership — which reports straight to the CEO
- Bring a founder-like mentality to ambiguous problems — you define the path, not just follow it
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years in a product, founder, or equivalent cross-functional technical role — your career started in engineering (SWE, data scientist, ML engineer, or highly technical data analyst), not in a traditional APM program
- Hands-on experience with data pipelines in production — you've built or owned work involving data ingestion, cleaning/normalization, and modeling; specific tools matter and should be on your resume
- Technical stack fluency: Python and AWS are required; experience with big data tooling such as Spark, Databricks, BigQuery, Snowflake, or Redshift must be explicitly demonstrated
- Internal tooling PM experience — you've owned products that engineering and operations teams use internally, not just external customer-facing features
- At least one year at a Series B or C startup — your current or most recent role must be at a startup, not a large tech organization
- Domain experience in fintech, fraud, payments, or identity is a significant differentiator and will move you to the top of the list
- Familiarity with Golang, Postgres, and OpenSearch is a bonus
- Authorized to work in the US; no time zone preference — fully remote

This Role Is NOT For You If...
- Your PM experience is exclusively in external, customer-facing products with no data platform or internal tooling work
- Your entire background is in big tech — this role requires startup mindset, startup pace, and startup accountability
- You followed a traditional APM PM Senior PM career track without engineering or data science roots — the team will know immediately in a technical conversation
- Your AI/ML experience lives in buzzwords rather than actual production data work
- You've had less than 2 years of tenure at any role in your career — this company values depth and commitment
This search has been open for a while — not because the role isn't compelling, but because the profile is genuinely rare. If you have the technical foundation, the startup experience, and the product instincts to own something that matters at a company that has already proven itself in one of the most complex domains in fintech, we want to hear from you.
