Blunt: The World's OpinionBlunt is a sentiment analysis data company on a mission to assign a number to everything, representing the world's opinion on anything imaginable.
We analyze the sentiment of topics across every category and assign each a score from 0–100. This allows users to both track how sentiment shifts in real time, and add their own ratings to anything they want. We're early, growing fast, and building something for the entire world.
The Opportunity
We're looking for a Full Stack Engineer to lead development across all three of our platforms: iOS, Android, and Web. The apps are already live, so your job is to maintain them, ship new features, and improve what's there. You'll work across the frontend, backend, and the scoring pipeline that powers Blunt Scores.
This is a lead role. You'll own the technical direction of the product, make the call on what gets built and how, and work closely with the founders on what ships next. You'll build user-facing features in Next.js and React, design and scale FastAPI services on Cloud Run, and refine the engine that generate Blunt Scores.
What You'll Own
- Lead and ship features across web, iOS, and Android (Next.js, React, TypeScript, SwiftUI, Kotlin)
- Build UI/UX across platforms
- Design, build, and maintain backend services and APIs (FastAPI, Python)
- Work across SQL and NoSQL databases (Firestore), vector databases (Pinecone), and object storage to keep data fast and reliable
- Own deployments, monitoring, and performance across Google Cloud and Vercel
- Maintain and evolve the scoring pipeline
What You Bring
- 2+ years building and shipping full stack applications
- Strong frontend skills with React and a modern framework (Next.js preferred)
- Solid backend experience in Python (FastAPI or similar) and designing REST APIs
- Mobile experience across SwiftUI (iOS) and Kotlin (Android)
- Comfortable working with cloud infrastructure (Google Cloud, Cloud Run, Vercel, or equivalent)
- Experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (Firestore preferred), vector databases, and third-party APIs
- Domain expertise in sentiment analysis, NLP, AI/ML, or something equivalent.
- You move fast, own your work, and care about what you shipWhy Blunt
- Your work ships to real users and you'll see the impact in real time
- Real ownership over the entire stack, not a narrow slice of it
- You lead the technical direction of the product
- Early-stage opportunity at a genuinely novel product
- Work directly with the founders on core product decisions
- Flexible and remote-friendlyCompensation
- $45,000 – $65,000 USD annually + stock options (vesting program) and a defined career path
- Final offer is dependent on the candidate's level, based on prior experience and performance throughout the application process
