Qualified Accountant – Accounts & Tax Assistant (ACA / ACCA)

Fully Remote Position – Mayfair Chartered Practice

We are a well-established Mayfair chartered accountancy practice, registered to carry on audit work in the UK and regulated for a range of investment business activities by the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England and Wales (ICAEW). We are also a member of the ICAEW Practice Assurance Scheme.

We are seeking a recently qualified accountant to join our team on a fully remote basis.

This role is only open to candidates who are ACA or ACCA qualified (recently qualified welcome). Candidates with only industry experience, or those without meaningful recent UK accounting practice experience, are unlikely to be suitable.

About the Role

You will support a varied portfolio of SME clients and high-net-worth individuals. Key responsibilities include:

• Preparation and review of management accounts and statutory accounts
• Bookkeeping, reconciliations, and journal postings
• VAT returns and compliance
• Corporation Tax (CT600) and Self-Assessment tax returns
• Client liaison and ad-hoc advisory support

Requirements

• ACA or ACCA qualified (recently qualified) with at least 2 years’ practical UK accounting practice experience — essential
• Strong technical knowledge of UK statutory accounts, VAT, and corporation tax
• Excellent written and spoken English with strong client communication skills
• Experience with Xero, Sage, Iris, or Digita is highly desirable
• Proven ability to work autonomously in a remote environment
