Corporate Tax Staff Accountant - Los Angeles, CA. We are seeking a detail oriented and proactive Corporate Tax Staff Accountant to join our team on a long term contract basis. Based in Los Angeles, this role offers professionals the opportunity to advance their expertise in tax compliance and accounting within the financial services industry.
Responsibilities
- Prepare accurate and timely tax returns, extensions, and projections for individuals, businesses, trusts, and estates.
- Review and analyze income tax notices, identify key issues, and draft appropriate responses.
- Assist with compliance related projects, including sales tax filings, business license renewals, and property tax reporting.
- Collaborate with clients and team members to address tax related inquiries and provide clear communication.
- Maintain up to date knowledge of tax laws and regulations to ensure compliance in all tasks.
- Utilize tax software, including Lacerte and Axcess, to streamline preparation and filing processes.
- Support financial statement preparation and ensure alignment with tax reporting.
- Contribute to audits and reviews by providing accurate financial and tax documentation.
- Organize and manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining attention to detail.
- Work on ad hoc accounting tasks as required to support the team.
Qualifications
- 1 3 years of relevant experience in a public accounting or tax firm.
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field is preferred.
- Strong understanding of tax concepts for individuals and various business entities, including LLCs, C Corporations, S Corporations, partnerships, and estates/trusts.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and tax software such as Lacerte and Axcess.
- Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with clients and team members.
- CPA license or plans to obtain one are preferred.
- High level of accuracy and attention to detail in all aspects of work.
