The Role
We're looking for a Social Media Manager who understands that great social media is more than posting content—it's building authority, trust, and community.
You will own the strategy and execution of our social presence across Instagram, LinkedIn, and Substack, helping establish Be Balanced and Micaela as leaders in functional health.
You'll work closely with our Fractional CMO and broader marketing team to identify educational opportunities, develop content strategies, and transform long-form educational materials into engaging social content that grows our audience and drives business results.
This role requires someone who thinks strategically, executes independently, and understands both the science of health and the psychology of social media.
- What You'll Own
- Own the overall social media strategy for Instagram, LinkedIn, and Substack
- Develop and manage monthly content calendars aligned with launches, campaigns, and business goals
- Identify trending conversations and opportunities within functional health and wellness
- Stay current on platform updates, algorithm changes, and content trends
- Write compelling captions that educate while maintaining the Be Balanced voice
- Collaborate with designers and video editors to bring content ideas to life
- Analyze performance metrics and continuously optimize strategy based on data
- Recommend new content series, campaigns, and growth opportunities
- Help position Be Balanced as the go-to authority in functional health education
- Create 5–6 high-quality pieces of content per week, including reels, carousels, graphics, and educational posts
- Publish content daily across designated platforms according to the content calendar
What We're Looking For
- Minimum 3 years of experience managing and growing social media accounts for brands or founders
- Experience managing Instagram, LinkedIn, and Substack
- Proven performance metrics demonstrating success, including audience growth, engagement, reach, impressions, conversions, or revenue attribution
- Experience working with health and wellness brands, preferably functional health, nutrition, hormone health, integrative medicine, longevity, or health coaching
- Must-Haves
- At least 3 years of professional social media management experience
- Portfolio demonstrating successful management of multiple social media accounts
- Ability to provide case studies or metrics showing measurable growth and performance
- Previous experience working with health and wellness brands similar to functional health coaching businesses
- Excellent writing and communication skills
- Strong understanding of audience growth strategies and content marketing
- Ability to manage multiple projects while meeting deadlines
- Nice to Have
- Experience with health & wellness brands or CPG products
- Experience working with subscription or membership businesses
- Familiarity with SEO and long-form content marketing
- Understanding of functional medicine, nutrition, hormone health, or longevity research
- Experience collaborating with creative teams, video editors, and designers
- How You'll Work
- This is a remote, part-time contract role on a monthly retainer.
- You'll have significant ownership over the social strategy while collaborating closely with the Fractional CMO and marketing team.
- We're looking for someone who doesn't simply execute tasks but proactively brings ideas, identifies opportunities, and helps shape the future of the Be Balanced brand.
