Leap29 are supporting a leading data centre client in Oslo who are seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee the delivery of large-scale data centre construction and infrastructure projects. This role will be responsible for managing project execution from design through commissioning, ensuring delivery on schedule, within budget, and to the highest quality and safety standards.
This is on an initial 12-month contract with potential for an extension.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, execution, and delivery of hyperscale and colocation data centre projects.
- Manage multidisciplinary teams including engineering, construction, commissioning, and vendor stakeholders.
- Oversee project schedules, budgets, risks, and resource planning.
- Coordinate contractors, consultants, and suppliers to ensure successful project delivery.
- Drive compliance with quality, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor project performance and provide regular reporting to senior stakeholders.
- Manage project change control, contract administration, and commercial matters.
- Support commissioning, handover, and operational readiness activities.
- Ensure alignment between design, construction, and operational teams throughout the project lifecycle.
- Identify and mitigate project risks while maintaining programme milestones.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Project Management, or a related discipline.
- Minimum 8–10 years' experience managing large-scale construction, infrastructure, energy, industrial, or data centre projects.
- Previous experience delivering mission-critical, data centre, pharmaceutical, industrial, or oil & gas projects is highly desirable.
- Strong understanding of project controls, scheduling, risk management, and stakeholder management.
- Experience managing contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Familiarity with commissioning and handover processes within complex engineering environments.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and client-facing skills.
- Knowledge of NEC, FIDIC, or equivalent contract frameworks is advantageous.
- Desirable Experience
- Data centre or mission-critical infrastructure project delivery.
- Hyperscale or colocation facility experience.
- Construction, MEP, commissioning, or critical facilities background.
- Experience working within Scandinavian or European construction environments.
