About the Opportunity
A leading New York-based media and publishing organization is seeking an ambitious and results-driven Account Executive to join its advertising sales team. This role is ideal for an early-career sales professional who is passionate about digital media, enjoys building relationships, and is eager to develop a successful career in advertising sales.
The Account Executive will be responsible for identifying new business opportunities, generating revenue through digital advertising solutions, and managing relationships with agency and direct-brand clients. This position offers the opportunity to work with a respected media brand, collaborate with experienced industry professionals, and contribute directly to revenue growth.
Key Responsibilities
Business Development & Prospecting
- Identify and engage prospective advertisers through outbound prospecting, networking, referrals, and market research.
- Build and maintain a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities.
- Utilize ZoomInfo and other prospecting tools to identify key decision-makers and target accounts.
- Conduct outreach via email, phone, LinkedIn, and virtual meetings to generate new business opportunities.
Advertising Sales
- Sell digital advertising solutions including display advertising, sponsored content, newsletters, video, custom content programs, and integrated marketing campaigns.
- Understand client objectives and recommend solutions that align with their marketing goals.
- Prepare proposals, presentations, and sales materials tailored to client needs.
- Negotiate pricing and campaign terms while maintaining profitability targets.
- Consistently achieve or exceed monthly and quarterly revenue goals.
Account Management
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with advertisers, agencies, and marketing decision-makers.
- Partner with internal teams to ensure successful campaign execution and client satisfaction.
- Identify opportunities for renewals, upselling, and cross-selling.
- Provide clients with ongoing support and strategic recommendations.
CRM & Sales Operations
- Maintain accurate records of all sales activities, opportunities, and client communications within Salesforce.
- Track pipeline progression, forecast revenue, and report on sales performance.
- Ensure data quality and adherence to sales processes and best practices.
Qualifications
Required Experience
- Approximately 1–3 years of sales experience, preferably in advertising sales, digital media, marketing services, SaaS, or business development.
- Experience selling digital advertising solutions is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated success in prospecting, pipeline development, and closing business.
Required Skills
- Hands-on experience using Salesforce for CRM management and pipeline tracking.
- Experience using ZoomInfo or similar prospecting and lead-generation platforms.
- Strong communication, presentation, and negotiation skills.
- Ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders at various levels.
- Comfortable conducting outbound sales activities and managing multiple opportunities simultaneously.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Marketing, Communications, Advertising, or a related field.
- Experience working with advertising agencies, media buyers, or marketing professionals.
- Familiarity with digital advertising metrics, campaign performance reporting, and media planning concepts.
