Role Overview
GALE is hiring a Vice President of MarTech Strategy & Innovation to join our Technology Leadership Team — a senior, market-facing role for a marketing technology leader who pairs deep enterprise MarTech fluency with a sharp, applied command of AI.
In this role, you will set the strategic vision, architect the solutions, and lead the delivery of MarTech and AI programs that move the needle for some of the world’s most recognizable brands. You will be the senior MarTech voice in the room — with CEOs and CMOs in the boardroom, with CTOs and CIOs at the architecture table, and with engineers and data scientists shipping the work.
As a core member of GALE’s Technology Leadership Team, your influence extends beyond client engagements: you will help shape how we go to market, how we build, and how we evolve our capabilities across clients and industries.
You’ll work closely with GALE’s media practice — architecting the data, identity, and activation patterns that connect MarTech and ad tech so the two sides operate as one system for our clients.
What You’ll Do
MarTech Strategy & Client Leadership
- Set the agenda — Define and lead MarTech strategy across a multi-client, multi-industry portfolio, serving as GALE’s senior MarTech voice in the market.
- Win the room — Build and deliver compelling strategic visions to CEOs, CMOs, CTOs, and CIOs — connecting technology investment to measurable business outcomes.
- Lead enterprise engagements & grow the practice — Run MarTech assessments, roadmap development, and executive alignment from discovery through decision.
Solution Architecture & Technical Delivery
- Architect at scale — Design enterprise-grade MarTech solutions across commerce, content management, ad tech, and media.
- Integrate the stack — Engineer robust integrations across CDPs, CRMs, personalization engines, tag management, data pipelines, and activation platforms.
- Bridge vision and execution — Work directly with architects and developers to deliver with fidelity — no daylight between strategy and shipped product.
- Build reusable IP — Establish reference architectures, frameworks, and delivery accelerators that compound across the GALE practice.
- Connect MarTech and media — Design data, identity, and activation patterns that link CDP/CRM to media platforms — DSPs, SSPs, walled gardens, and clean rooms — in partnership with GALE’s media practice.
- Close the measurement loop — Bring media performance signal back into MarTech to power personalization, lifecycle, and CRM.
Data, CDP & Identity Strategy
- Lead the data strategy — Own strategy and architecture for Customer Data Platforms (CDPs), identity resolution, audience segmentation, and real-time personalization.
- Make data activation-ready — Design data foundations that are clean, governed, and ready to power activation across client ecosystems — including paid media.
- Define the integration map — Set the integration approach across platforms such as Tealium, Firebase, Braze, Databricks, and Salesforce Data Cloud.
AI Strategy & Application in MarTech
- Frame the AI thesis — Define how AI fits within a client’s marketing technology ecosystem — from vision through architecture and delivery.
- Find the high-value use cases — Identify and prioritize AI use cases across personalization, content generation, predictive analytics, audience modeling, and campaign optimization.
- Architect for production — Design AI-powered solutions that integrate with existing MarTech stacks — with clear data flows, model layers, and activation patterns.
- Assess AI readiness — Guide clients on data maturity, governance posture, and organizational capability to adopt AI responsibly.
- Deliver with the builders — Partner with data science and engineering teams to ship AI solutions at scale, with clear KPIs and feedback loops.
Vendor Ecosystem & Industry Relationships
- Operate at the executive table — Maintain senior relationships with leading MarTech vendors including Salesforce, Adobe, Braze, Tealium, Google, Meta, and emerging AI-native platforms.
- Convert relationships into leverage — Unlock roadmap access, co-sell motions, and preferred partnerships for GALE clients.
- Stay ahead of the curve — Bring proactive POVs on emerging platforms, capabilities, and shifts in the ecosystem.
GALE Technology Leadership
- Shape the practice — Contribute as a core member of GALE’s Technology Leadership Team to how we build, staff, and evolve our capabilities.
- Develop the bench — Mentor and grow a high-performing MarTech practice across strategy, architecture, and delivery disciplines.
- Amplify our point of view — Drive industry presence through speaking engagements, published POVs, and category-defining work.
Who You Are
- 12+ years in MarTech, with at least 4 years at the VP level or equivalent.
- Proven track record delivering enterprise MarTech solutions at scale across two or more of: e-commerce, CMS/DXP, ad tech & media, data & analytics.
- Deep expertise with CDPs, identity resolution, and data activation platforms.
- Multi-industry experience (retail, CPG, financial services, healthcare, media, etc.).
- Hands-on experience designing or delivering AI-powered marketing solutions — not just sponsoring them.
Technical Depth
- Fluency across the full MarTech stack: CRM, CDP, personalization, tag management, paid media technology, BI/reporting.
- Working knowledge of the ad tech ecosystem — DSPs, SSPs, ad servers, walled gardens, clean rooms — and how it interfaces with MarTech.
- Working understanding of AI/ML fundamentals as applied to marketing — LLMs, propensity models, recommendation engines, and generative AI.
- Familiarity with modern data architecture: data lakes, streaming pipelines, and governance frameworks.
Leadership & Relationships
- Established C-suite relationships across multiple industries.
- Strong vendor network across Salesforce, Adobe, Braze, Google, and beyond.
- Exceptional communicator — able to inspire confidence in boardrooms and engineering stand-ups alike.
- Natural collaborator across practices — comfortable working alongside media, data science, and creative leaders to deliver integrated solutions and team builder.
