Digital Marketing Manager

About the Role
We're looking for a strategic, hands-on Digital Marketing Manager to own and grow Apex's digital presence across traditional and emerging channels.
This role goes beyond standard digital marketing. You will be responsible for positioning Apex not only in search engines, but also across AI-driven discovery platforms such as ChatGPT, Gemini, and Perplexity.
You'll lead strategy and execution across
- SEO
- Paid media
- Analytics
- Social media
- Website optimization
- AI / LLM optimization
You will also guide content planning based on performance data, audience behavior, and evolving search trends.
Key Responsibilities
SEO & AI Search Optimization / LLMO
- Develop and execute strategies to improve visibility in both Google Search and AI-driven platforms
- Optimize website content for LLM discoverability and citation, including structured content, FAQ development, semantic clarity, and entity building
- Conduct keyword and query-intent research across traditional and AI search behaviors
- Monitor rankings, referral sources, and emerging search trends
- Continuously evolve strategy based on how users are shifting from search engines to AI tools
Website Management & Optimization
- Manage and optimize website content, landing pages, and user experience
- Make updates and improvements across platforms such as Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress
- Ensure website pages are optimized for SEO, conversions, and accurate tracking
- Partner with internal team members or outside developers when larger technical updates are needed
Google Ads & Paid Media
- Plan, launch, and optimize Google Ads campaigns across Search, Display, and other relevant channels
- Manage budgets, bidding strategies, targeting, and A/B testing
- Drive high-intent traffic and measurable conversions
Analytics & Performance Tracking
- Manage Google Analytics 4 / GA4 and related conversion tracking
- Track website behavior, campaign performance, and traffic sources, including AI referral traffic where possible
- Build reports that clearly translate performance into opportunities for growth
Social Media Strategy & Management
- Oversee Instagram, TikTok, Facebook, and YouTube
- Develop platform-specific growth strategies and campaign plans
- Manage content calendars and ensure social efforts support broader marketing goals
Content Strategy & Direction
- Identify what content should be created based on search trends, AI discoverability, and campaign performance
- Work with the Apex team to guide content creation rather than necessarily producing all assets directly
- Ensure content supports brand awareness, traffic growth, and bookings
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in digital marketing or a similar role
- Strong expertise in SEO, Google Ads, and Google Analytics 4 / GA4
- Familiarity with AI SEO, LLM Optimization / LLMO, and emerging search behavior
- Experience managing and updating websites on platforms such as Shopify, Wix, Squarespace, and WordPress
- Experience managing multi-platform social media strategies
- Strong analytical mindset and ability to turn data into action
- Excellent organizational, communication, and project management skills
- Lives in Los Angeles and is able to commute to the office daily
- This is not a remote position
Bonus Skills
- Experience optimizing content for AI platforms like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Gemini
- Familiarity with structured data, schema, and semantic SEO
- Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop or Premiere
- Background in creative, production, rental, or e-commerce industries
- Experience helping brands improve booking or lead-generation funnels
