Senior Software Engineer- Trading Platform

This role sits within a proprietary trading platform focused on real-time, user-facing GUI applications used by traders and internal teams. You’ll develop and scale full-stack systems where performance, usability, and reliability are immediately visible. The interfaces you build support live decision-making, so improvements to speed or design have a direct impact.

There’s strong ownership here. The team is growing, creating opportunities for greenfield work alongside meaningful improvements to existing systems. You’ll design features end-to-end, contribute to architecture, and refine applications for performance in a latency-sensitive environment.

The firm trades its own capital, so engineering works directly with traders and stakeholders rather than through layers of external clients. You’ll partner closely with users to understand workflows and build practical, high-impact solutions.

The ideal background is strong full-stack experience with JavaScript/TypeScript. On the front end, React is key for building responsive interfaces. On the back end, experience with Node.js, NestJS, and microservices is important. Comfort working in complex systems and improving them without disruption is critical.

This is a highly autonomous role spanning the full development lifecycle. It’s a strong fit for someone who enjoys building user-facing systems and working closely with end users.

The role sits in Chicago with a hybrid model. Compensation is $150-200k base.
