We're partnering with a leading academic healthcare organization that is looking to add a Financial Analyst to its research finance team. This role will support post-award grants management, working directly with faculty members to oversee the financial health of their research portfolios and ensure funding is managed accurately and compliantly.

This is much more than a reporting role. You'll become a trusted financial partner to Principal Investigators, helping them understand their budgets, monitor spending, make funding decisions, and navigate the complexities of grant management. After training, you'll be responsible for managing your own portfolio while collaborating closely with leadership and the broader finance team.

What You'll Be Doing

• Manage the financial administration of post-award grant portfolios
• Meet regularly with faculty to review financial performance and discuss funding strategies
• Prepare financial reports, analyses, journal entries, and cost transfers
• Monitor grant compliance and ensure proper use of funding sources
• Review personnel allocations and recommend adjustments when appropriate
• Analyze trends and identify potential financial issues before they become problems
• Partner with leadership on ad hoc projects and process improvements
• Help develop reporting tools and financial processes that improve decision-making

Preferred Experience

• Financial analysis, accounting, or grants administration experience
• Exposure to post-award research finance or sponsored programs
• Experience working with federal grants (NIH, DOD, NSF, or similar)
• Strong Excel skills
• Experience with PeopleSoft, Oracle, or other enterprise financial systems is a plus
• Academic Medical Center or higher education experience is beneficial but not required

Schedule & Compensation

• Hybrid schedule: 2 days onsite, 3 days remote (M-T Onsite, W-F Remote)
• 35-hour work weeks
• Contract-to-hire opportunity with a target conversion salary of approximately $80,000-$90,000, depending on experience/qualifications.
