Huxley is partnering with a top real estate player to look for a strategic and hands-on Head of HR & Administration to lead its people agenda in Japan.
This is a senior leadership role where you’ll partner closely with business leaders to shape organizational effectiveness, drive talent strategy, and ensure best-in-class HR operations.📍 Location: Tokyo, Japan
What You’ll DoStrategic HR Leadership
Partner with Japan leadership to align HR strategy with business goals
Act as a trusted advisor on organizational design, people strategy, and employee relations
Localize and implement global HR initiatives for the Japan market
HR Operations & Governance
Oversee end-to-end HR operations, ensuring strong compliance and governance
Manage payroll, benefits, and employee lifecycle processes (via vendors where applicable)
Lead and develop a lean HR/Admin team
Talent & Culture
Drive talent acquisition, performance management, and engagement initiatives
Enable leadership capability building, feedback culture, and goal alignment
Foster a high-performance, values-driven culture
Organization & Change
Lead workforce planning, organization design, and transformation initiatives
Drive local change management and communication strategies
Identify capability gaps and implement targeted development programs

Support salary benchmarking and annual review processes
Compliance & Employee Relations
Ensure full compliance with Japanese labor laws and regulations
Manage complex employee relations issues with strong risk mitigation

What We’re Looking For
Proven experience as a senior HR leader with end-to-end ownership of HR in Japan
Deep expertise in Japanese labor law and local market practices
Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in execution
Strong executive presence with the ability to influence senior stakeholders
Experience in lean or standalone environments; comfortable working in ambiguity
Experience in regional/global matrix organizations
