Manpower are currently seeking an interim Balance Sheet Controller, to work with our global FMCG client Unilever, renowned for brands such as Dove, Sure, Persil, and Simple, and become an integral part of their fast-paced FMCG environment. The position is based in Kingston upon Thames, Surrey.
This is a full-time temporary role to run for 3 months, requiring 36.25 hours per week, Monday to Friday, to start ASAP. Compensation for this role is competitive, paying up to £50,000 per annum, pro rata, depending upon experience.
The role currently offers a mix of remote and onsite working, subject to adjustment based on business requirements.
BackgroundThe Financial Controlling Team is a core pillar within the Unilever Finance Operating Model and UKI MCOThe Financial Controlling Team leads the business agenda delivering pro-active risk management and controls, and in partnership with Uniops are entrusted to deliver high quality accounting and process excellenceThe Financial Accounting Team sit underneath the UKI Financial Controller, the team are responsible for the Accounting, Risk and Controlling aspects of the MCO and are key in driving stewardship throughout the business
Key responsibilities will comprise
- Review and support approvals of price changes and promotional spend, ensuring alignment with accounting policies and audit requirements
- Validate and check supporting evidence for all activities to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance
- Challenge Customer Development (CD) and Genpact teams where evidence is insufficient or non-compliant
- Ensure all transactions are audit-ready with clear and robust documentation
- Support and resolve queries related to price changes, promotions, and associated balance sheet impacts Skills Profile
- Qualified accountant or equivalent or studying towards professional accounting qualification
- Excellent engagement and communication skills
- Ability to own & drive the agenda for the business (pro-active & independent worker)
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to effectively business partner and build connections with stakeholders without a “formal” partner relationship
- Ability to constructively challenge assumptions and hold others accountable
- Ability to make the complex simple
- Must have excellent MS Office skills including Word and be at a intermediate level in excel, including use of V LOOK -Ups and Pivot tables, plus SAP experience would be preferred.
