Seattle Children's launched the Office of Innovation & New Ventures (OINV) to transform groundbreaking research into real-world applications and promote a sustainable model to invest in future discoveries.
OINV seeks a Business Analyst responsible for driving innovations from Seattle Children's discoveries into commercial products to benefit society, impact pediatric and public health, and improve the overall quality of life.
The Business Analyst's primary role will be to help identify, develop, and lead high-impact projects and assist in managing the intellectual property portfolio and licensing of technologies for the Seattle Children's. The role is responsible to implement the day-to-day elements of intellectual property management and technology transfer matters, including documentation maintenance, and compliance recording.
Innovation Lifecycle Management (50% time): The Analyst will, with support by the Director, (i) solicit new invention disclosures from research faculty/clinicians, (ii) evaluate inventions arising from Seattle Children’s development activities for patentability and assess patent landscape; (iii) manage resulting patent prosecution in partnership with patent counsel, (iv) perform literature searches and prepare market analyses of SC innovations to determine commercial value, “investor-readiness” of technologies, and identify potential commercial development partners, (v) develop technology-specific marketing materials and conduct business development activities to solicit interest by commercial development partners, and (vi) negotiate various technology-specific agreements, including confidentiality agreements, sponsored research/collaboration agreements, inter-institutional agreements, option agreements, license agreements with commercial development partners.
Incubator Program Management & Project Support (50% time): The Analyst will also support the Office of Innovation & New Ventures’ Incubator Program.
In this role, they will (i) provide end-to-end oversight, by supporting the incubator program through the full lifecycle, including building work plans and presentations, budgeting, and monitoring progress, (ii) conduct performance tracking of research and development related projects against decision gates using project management tools, (iii) participate in stakeholder engagement, through development of an appropriate rhythm of the business to support a program lifecycle, and (iv) assist the AVP in general incubator program related activities.

Salary Information
This compensation range was calculated based on full-time employment (2080 hours worked per calendar year). Offers are determined by multiple factors including equity, skills, experience, and expertise, and may vary within the range provided.
