Type: Full-time, permanentLocation: Pasila, HelsinkiApplication deadline: ke 24.6.2026Arctial is looking for a Business Development Analyst to join its Commercial team in Helsinki, and support the development of offtakes, partnerships, and upstream/downstream commercial agreements across the smelter and rolling mill project.
Key responsibilities
- In this role, you will combine deep data analysis and commercial modelling with the production of high-quality materials for internal and external stakeholders.
- You will also play a key role in driving the adoption of AI tools and agentic workflows to increase the speed, quality, and impact of the Commercial team's work.
Your responsibilities include
- Build and maintain commercial models supporting decision-making on sales and sourcing agreements, logistics structures, partnership economics, and pricing mechanisms (LME, regional premiums, low-carbon premiums)
- Distill insights from market signals across multiple sources; commodity pricing, supply/demand drivers, competitor moves, macroeconomic and policy trends (CBAM, ETS, trade measures), into clear, decision-ready outputs.
- Support negotiation and structuring of upstream (alumina, anodes, power) and downstream (metal offtake, rolling mill customer) agreements, including scenario modelling and term-sheet analysis
- Produce high-quality materials for internal and external audiences; board of directors, shareholders, customers, suppliers, financiers, and government counterparts
- ESG, carbon footprint, and decarbonisation: track market developments and help shape Arctial's own decarbonisation roadmap and progress on initiatives
- Commercial systems and tooling: act as the Commercial team's interface with IT vendors - scoping needs, evaluating options, and tracking implementation of systems such as CRM and S&OPSpearhead the use of AI agents and automation across Commercial workflows and between functions: market monitoring, document review, model construction, counterparty research, and reporting.

- With a relevant academic background and strong analytical foundation, you combine a structured, consultant-like approach with a hands-on mindset.
- You are energized by ambiguity, take ownership naturally, and want to help shape new capabilities, commercial partnerships, and ways of working while leaving a lasting mark on Arctial's growth journey.
- You are expected to have:1–4 years of experience in business development, strategy, investment banking, or data/commercial analytics — ideally in industrials, commodities, energy, or a high-growth start-up environment
- Commercial and financial fluency; comfortable building models from scratch and engaging credibly with both technical and corporate counterparts
- Advanced Excel; familiarity with Python, SQL, or BI tools is a plus
- Demonstrated curiosity and fluency with AI tools (Claude, ChatGPT, agentic workflows)
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English; able to distill complex content for executive and investor audiences.
- Finnish and Swedish are a plus but not required
- Comfortable with ambiguity: this is a new role and the right candidate will shape its priorities and ways of working

- Practicalities:
- This is a full-time and permanent position in which you will be employed directly by Arctial.
- The role is based in Helsinki (Pasila), and employees are expected to regularly work from the office.
- The role also includes occasional travel to the project site in Kokkola–Kruunupyy and other locations.
- The starting date is agreed separately with the selected candidate.
- The compensation package consists of a fixed base salary and a performance-based bonus.
