Location: NYC (Hybrid, 3x/week)

You will be part of a small tactical team where delivery is key and will have responsibility over a wide range of products and technologies. You will be expected to not only deliver quality code and a quality customer experience but also to work closely with the product and customer success teams to help shape our future.

What You'll Do

• Design and deliver complex technical solutions that leverage the latest technologies (yes AI) to deliver a world class customer experience.
• Build APIs and services that enable a new form of entrepreneurship empowerment for over 3 million small business owners
• Build and integrate with financial service technologies for payments, banking, and loans
• Support the technical infrastructure that powers over 14,000 small businesses.
• Collaborate with product, design, and across engineering on the strategic vision for our product roadmap
• Contribute to a culture of technical excellence through code and design reviews
• Deliver high-quality, secure, and testable code
• Mentor other engineers and contribute to the engineering culture
• What We’re Looking For3+ years of technical experience building and maintaining core backend systems
• Experience deploying to and monitoring your systems on AWS You have owned and lead projects from planning phase through delivery and support
• You think about performance and trade offs constantly Experience working with data pipelines and you are comfortable connecting systems you build to existing data infrastructure
• You have working with financial service APIs such as payments processors or lender origination Experience as a generalist, working on whatever part of the stack necessary to solve the problem at hand
• A passion for building delightful applications and the systems that support them

• This role will be located in NYC along with the rest of the technical Hearth team, the CEO, and other key roles in the business.
