Description

As our BI Engineer, you won’t just be building dashboards; you’ll be the architect of our data truth. You will take ownership of building and scaling a modern data lake on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), integrating diverse streams from Google Ads, Google Analytics, and our proprietary internal systems.

We are looking for a hybrid talent—someone who understands the rigor of software engineering but possesses the curiosity of a business analyst. Your work will directly influence strategic pivots, campaign optimization, and the bottom line of Shoparize.

Who You Are

• Technical Foundation: You have a background in Software Engineering or high-level Data Analytics.GCP Expert: You live and breathe BigQuery. Experience with Dataflow, Cloud Functions, or Looker is a massive plus.
• Analytical Mindset: You likely have experience in Finance or another high-stakes, data-heavy sector where accuracy is non-negotiable.SQL Ninja: You can write complex queries in your sleep and know how to optimize them for cost and speed.
• Self-Starter: You’re comfortable working remotely or in our Amsterdam hub, managing your own roadmap and communicating across time zones.

• What You’ll DoArchitect the Lake: Design and implement a scalable data lake using BigQuery, ensuring data is structured for both performance and clarity.
• Pipeline Engineering: Build and maintain ETL/ELT pipelines to ingest data from GA4, Google Ads, and our internal databases.
• Strategic Insights: Collaborate with leadership to translate raw data into actionable business logic, helping us optimize campaign performance.
• Data Governance: Ensure data quality, consistency, and security across the entire stack.
• Bridge the Gap: Work closely with our engineering team to ensure internal systems are "data-ready" and with our marketing team to unlock performance insights.
