This company is doing something genuinely different. They are taking physics simulation and computer vision and applying them to a market that has been pricing climate risk with decades-old methods. Wildfire. Flood. Catastrophe at the individual property level. The science is serious, the mission is real, and the greenfield opportunity is as open as it gets.

As an ML Tech Lead here, you are the person who defines how this pipeline gets built. You are making architectural decisions across annotation infrastructure, computer vision systems, and quality automation. You are designing the human in the loop workflows that keep the data honest and the models accountable. You are not inheriting someone else's shortcuts.

You are building something from scratch, and your fingerprints will be all over it.

The work sits at the intersection of computer vision, active learning, and geospatial data. You are working with satellite imagery, 3D reconstructions, and property-level data to extract signals that have never existed in any database before. Most engineers never get near a problem like this. The consequences of getting it right, or wrong, are immediate and visible.

You'll bring real production ML experience, strong computer vision fundamentals, and a track record of owning annotation or labeling systems at scale. Leadership skills, a desire to build a team around you, active learning, and HITL experience will also set you up well.

The team works onsite 4 days/week in SF and the Base Salary ranges between $250K and $300K. Both are flexible for the right person.
