AI/ML Engineer — The Trust Loop

The Trust Loop is a verification platform that lets candidates prove their skills through endorsements from former managers, colleagues, and clients. We're changing how hiring decisions get made - replacing gut feel with proof.

The Role

We're looking for an AI/ML Engineer to help build and scale the intelligence layer behind The Trust Loop. You'll work directly with the founder to design and ship the models that power candidate matching, endorsement analysis, and trust scoring.

This is an early-stage role - you'll have significant ownership of architectural decisions and a direct impact on product direction.

What You'll Do

• Design, build, and optimise ML models that extract signal from endorsement data
• Develop and refine our NLP pipelines for skill verification and matching
• Work across our stack
• Gemini, Supabase, and Cloudflare - to deploy and serve models in production
• Collaborate on product decisions, not just technical ones
• Identify opportunities where AI/ML can create step-change improvements in the platform

What We're Looking For

• 5–8 years of hands-on experience in machine learning, NLP, or applied AIStrong production experience — you've shipped models, not just trained them
• Familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering (we use Gemini)
• Comfortable working with Supabase (Postgres, Edge Functions) and Cloudflare (Workers, Pages)
• Ability to operate independently in an early-stage environment with minimal hand-holding
• Clear communicator who can explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders
• Nice to Have
• Experience in HR tech, recruitment, or marketplace platforms
• Background in graph-based models or trust/reputation systems
• Familiarity with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation
• Our Interview Process
• As part of your application, you'll go through The Trust Loop's own endorsement process - the same one our users experience.
• You'll invite former managers or colleagues to verify your skills.
• We believe in eating our own cooking, and it gives both sides a more honest picture than a CV alone.
