What The Role Is
You play a pivotal role in shaping our Defence Executive Officer (DXO) workforce by developing and implementing recruitment strategies to attract the right talent for MINDEF/SAF. To do so, you forge close partnerships with internal stakeholders and external partners to understand departments' hiring needs and the broader talent landscape.
You also consider candidates' career aspirations alongside organisational needs to achieve optimal job and organisation fit.
What You Will Be Working On
- Partner with hiring managers to understand job requirements and advise on the best approach to fill each role
- Source and engage candidates through various channels, including job portals, career fairs, and professional networks, to build a strong pipeline of talent
- Represent MINDEF/SAF at career fairs and engagement events with universities and institutions to strengthen our employer brand
- Use data and recruitment metrics to identify trends, sharpen our hiring approach, and deliver a positive hiring experience for hiring managers and candidates alike
- Ensure recruitment records are accurate and processes are compliant with internal governance and audit requirements
- Explore and adopt new technologies, including AI, to streamline recruitment processes and work more effectively
Challenge(s)
- Balancing internal compliance and approval processes with the need to deliver a responsive and positive experience for both candidates and hiring managers
- Managing the varying expectations and priorities of multiple stakeholders within tight timelines
What We Are Looking For
- Education in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Studies and Psychology
- A genuine interest in people and a passion for matching the right talent to the right roles
- Ability to think critically and systematically, with a keen eye for understanding and improving recruitment processes
- Curious and self-driven, with a willingness to continuously learn and experiment with new tools and technologies to work more effectively
