The Manager – Projects (Joinery Division) is responsible for the end-to-end execution of joinery and interior fit-out projects, ensuring delivery within budget, quality standards, and project timelines. The role oversees project planning, production coordination, site execution, resource management, subcontractor performance, client relationships, and compliance with safety and quality standards.
The incumbent will act as the key link between clients, consultants, site teams, factory operations, procurement, and senior management to ensure successful project completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Project Planning & Execution
- Manage multiple joinery and interior fit-out projects simultaneously from award to handover.
- Develop detailed project schedules, execution plans, and resource allocation strategies.
- Monitor project progress and ensure milestones are achieved as per contractual commitments.
- Identify project risks and implement mitigation measures proactively.
- Conduct regular project review meetings with internal and external stakeholders.
- Client & Stakeholder Management
- Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, consultants, contractors, and suppliers.
- Attend project meetings and provide progress updates.
- Manage client expectations and resolve project-related issues professionally.
- Ensure client requirements are accurately communicated to factory and site teams.
- Maintain strong client relationships to support future business opportunities.
- Factory & Production Coordination
- Coordinate closely with the joinery factory team to ensure timely production.
- Review production schedules and monitor manufacturing progress.
- Ensure materials, drawings, and approvals are available before production commencement.
- Resolve production bottlenecks and prioritize critical project requirements.
- Site Management
- Supervise project engineers, site supervisors, and subcontractors.
- Ensure site activities are executed according to approved drawings and specifications.
- Monitor quality standards throughout installation and finishing activities.
- Ensure compliance with project schedules and site safety requirements.
- Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews.
- Commercial & Cost Control
- Monitor project budgets and control project costs.
- Track variations, change orders, and additional works.
- Coordinate with the estimation and commercial teams regarding project profitability.
- Review subcontractor and supplier invoices against completed work.
- Prepare project performance reports including cost, progress, and risks.
- Procurement & Material Management
- Coordinate procurement activities to ensure timely material availability.
- Monitor material usage and prevent wastage.
- Ensure procurement aligns with project schedules and budgets.
- Liaise with suppliers regarding delivery schedules and quality concerns.
- Quality Management
- Ensure all joinery products and installations meet company and client quality standards.
- Implement quality inspections at factory and site stages.
- Coordinate snagging, rectification, and final handover activities.
- Maintain project documentation and quality records.
- Health, Safety & Compliance
- Ensure adherence to UAE health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Promote a strong safety culture across project sites and factory operations.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and client-specific safety requirements.
- Participate in safety audits and corrective action implementation.
- Team Leadership
- Lead, mentor, and develop project engineers, supervisors, and project coordinators.
- Conduct performance reviews and provide ongoing coaching.
- Foster collaboration between project, factory, procurement, and commercial teams.
- Build a culture of accountability, ownership, and continuous improvement.
- Bachelor's Degree or Diploma in Civil Engineering, Interior Design, Construction Management, Architecture, or related field.
- Project Management certification (PMP or equivalent) preferred.UAE Driving License is a must.5-7 years of experience in joinery, interior fit-out, or construction project management.
- Minimum 2 years in a managerial role within a joinery manufacturing and installation environment.
- Strong experience managing high-end residential, hospitality, commercial, or luxury fit-out projects.
- Experience in UAE/GCC market preferred.
- Strong understanding of joinery manufacturing processes.
- Ability to interpret architectural, joinery, and shop drawings.
- Knowledge of project planning tools such as MS Project or Primavera.
- Strong understanding of contracts, BOQs, variations, and project costing.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
