The Institute of Biomedical Engineering (BME) is a multidisciplinary research community where investigators across engineering, medicine and dentistry collaborate to develop innovative solutions that address global challenges in human health.
Located in the heart of Canada’s largest health-care research network, our faculty offer quality education to students who receive training in biomedical and clinical engineering. These highly experienced faculty have been involved in launching more than 20 start-up companies and driving three major biomedical engineering commercialization ventures.
Reporting to the Senior Finance and Business Officer, the Financial Officer provides financial support to the Institute of Biomedical Engineering by drafting financial reports, updating data into FIS, HRIS and supporting departmental payroll process.
The incumbent works closely with the Senior Finance and Business Officer and faculty to ensure business transactions are aligned with generally accepted accounting principles, and the University’s financial and purchasing policies and guidelines.
The incumbent brings a strong understanding of financial management, analysis and auditing, and a high degree of professionalism and customer service to facilitate the achievement of departmental goals.
