The Organization North Los Angeles County Regional Center “NLACRC” is a private, non-profit agency that is contracted with the State of California, Department of Developmental Services, to provide services to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.
NLACRC is one of the largest regional centers in California and has proudly served the San Fernando Valley, Santa Clarita Valley, and Antelope Valley since 1974. (These are examples of the types of duties that may be performed. Additional duties may be assigned or added.) Responsible for maintaining the Deputy Director’s calendar and schedules related appointments; coordinates activities of numerous departments ensuring functions that are scheduled do not conflict with existing events. Coordinates all Deputy Director’s travel and conference arrangements.
Provides administrative support to the Deputy Director on Board committee activities as needed and support other such activities when requested.
This function would require routine tracking of reports that are presented by the DD. Acts as a liaison between the stakeholders and the Deputy Director by answering inquiries either verbally or in writing on a variety of organizational activities; develops reports, graphs, databases; writes letters, memos, and e-mails as required. May perform confidential employee relation assignments.
Manages department requests and matters; follows established rules and procedures in responding to requests and redirecting items to other staff members; designs, organizes and maintains the agency department systems. Serves as a back-up to other Executive Administrative Assistants. Work independently and within a team on special and nonrecurring and ongoing projects.
Act as a project manager for special projects, at the request of the Deputy Director, which may include planning and coordinating multiple presentations, disseminating information, and supporting organizing companywide events. Skills and Abilities Clerical and administrative office practices and procedures. High school diploma or higher and five or more years of experience or training. Must have high level of interpersonal skills to handle sensitive and confidential situations. Position continually requires demonstrated poise, tact and diplomacy. Must be able to interact and communicate with individuals at all levels of the organization.
Must have advance knowledge of a variety of computer software applications in word processing, spreadsheets, database and presentation software (MSWord, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams) Work requires continual attention to detail in composing, typing and proofing materials, establishing priorities and meeting deadlines.
