Construction and Real Estate Recruitment

Search across developers, main contractors, consultancies, project management firms and the asset and facilities management businesses that inherit the buildings.

Almost every construction CV claims a landmark project. Very few state what the person actually owned on it. The gap between those two things is where most construction hires go wrong, and it is only closed by referencing the specific package, value and stage rather than the project name.

We also treat the developer, contractor, consultant and facilities management sides as genuinely different careers. Moving between them is possible and often smart, but it is a decision to make openly at briefing, not a surprise discovered at second interview.

What a construction & real estate search actually looks like

Project type and value are the shortlist, not the CV

A high-rise residential specialist, an infrastructure specialist and a fit-out specialist are three different searches. Matching on the specific typology and contract value is what makes a shortlist interview-ready.

Contract familiarity is a commercial risk control

For commercial and claims-facing roles the form of contract a candidate has genuinely administered matters more than their title. We qualify it explicitly.

Hiring follows awards and handovers

Demand in this sector arrives in bursts tied to award and handover dates. Searches that begin at award compete with every other firm on the same award. Starting earlier is the single biggest advantage available.

Where these hires go wrong

We would rather argue with a brief than deliver a shortlist against one that cannot work. These are the failure modes we raise at the briefing stage.

  • Hiring a contractor-side manager into a developer-side role without discussing the change in what the job actually is.
  • Treating a planning engineer as a scheduling technician. On a complex programme the role is commercial as much as technical.
  • Screening out candidates whose project names are unfamiliar. The package they owned matters more than the marketing of the development.
