Role Overview
Masterminds Education is seeking an exceptional Science & STEM Lead / Class Teacher to support students across the primary and lower secondary years in a small, boutique learning environment.
The program currently serves a small student body of approximately 30 students, organized into cohorts of around 5–6 children. This allows teachers to deliver highly individualized instruction, closely monitor progress, and build meaningful relationships with each student.
This role is ideal for a strong Science and STEM educator who is also capable of working with students across multiple areas of learning. The role is intentionally not designed as a narrowly single-subject Science position.
The successful candidate will bring strong expertise in Science, STEM, inquiry-based learning, project-based learning, age-appropriate AI concepts, coding, robotics, engineering design, and applied problem-solving, while also serving as Class Teacher for one or more small student groups.
The main teaching focus will be Science and STEM across primary and lower secondary groups, with responsibility for helping students develop scientific curiosity, conceptual understanding, reasoning, experimentation skills, research skills, creativity, and confidence. The role also includes supporting the quality, consistency, and development of Science and STEM learning across relevant groups.

Requirements
- Minimum 5–8 years’ experience teaching Science, STEM and/or design technology to primary and/or lower secondary students
- Strong knowledge of Science curriculum standards, preferably including UK National Curriculum, Cambridge, NGSS, or similar international frameworks
- Ability to teach Science across primary and lower secondary levels
- Strong understanding of biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, environmental science, scientific inquiry, experimentation, and practical investigations
- Demonstrated experience or strong capability in STEM education, including coding, robotics, engineering design, design thinking, applied technology, and age-appropriate AI concepts
- Ability to translate scientific concepts into engaging experiments, demonstrations, investigations, models, projects, and real-world applications
- Experience teaching in small groups and adapting instruction to individual student needs
- Ability and willingness to serve as Class Teacher for one or more small student groups
- Ability to teach selected additional subjects or interdisciplinary units based on strengths and interests
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Science, Engineering, Technology, STEM Education, or a related field; teaching qualification preferred
- Strong spoken and written English
- Strong classroom management, communication, and parent-facing professionalism
- Ability to collaborate with teachers across subjects to support cross-curricular and interdisciplinary learning

Core Responsibilities
- Plan and deliver high-quality Science and STEM lessons for primary and lower secondary students
- Teach Science through hands-on experiments, inquiry, observation, demonstrations, practical investigations, modelling, discussion, and real-world application
- Build students’ understanding of core scientific concepts across biology, chemistry, physics, earth science, environmental science, and applied science
- Plan and deliver STEM lessons and projects integrating coding, robotics, AI concepts, engineering design, design thinking, creativity, and applied problem-solving
- Design and implement experiments, STEM challenges, research tasks, project-based learning activities, showcases, and practical investigations
- Differentiate instruction for small groups and individual learners based on readiness, ability, pace, interests, and learning goals
- Support students in developing scientific vocabulary, research skills, structured reasoning, presentation skills, collaboration, and confidence in explaining their thinking
- Ensure practical activities are delivered safely, with appropriate planning, supervision, risk awareness, and use of resources
- Track student progress through formative assessment, observation, written work, project outcomes, internal assessment data, and progress documentation
- Help guide the quality, consistency, and development of Science and STEM teaching across relevant student groups
- Serve as Class Teacher for one or more student groups, supporting academic progress, pastoral awareness, routines, parent communication, and whole-child development
- Teach selected additional subjects, projects, or interdisciplinary units aligned with the candidate’s strengths and student needs
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, specialist teachers, and school leadership to ensure instructional alignment and strong student outcomes
- Contribute to individual learning plans, student progress reviews, and parent updates where required
- Support students in developing independence, resilience, organization, curiosity, creativity, accountability, and confidence as learners
- Participate in school events, STEM showcases, enrichment activities, clubs, competitions, and wider school initiatives where required
- Follow all safeguarding, health, safety, confidentiality, and school policies
- Participate in staff meetings, training, professional development, and curriculum refinement

- AED 18,000 – 22,000 per month, tax-free, including base salary and housing allowance, based on quality of experience, qualifications, and scope of responsibilities
