Our construction client is seeking a Senior Staff Accountant to join their dynamic accounting team. You will play a crucial role in transitioning our accounting and finance systems from third-party to in-house. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in accounting and finance, with experience in managing and implementing accounting software platforms.

They should be detail-oriented, organized, and capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously. Exact compensation may vary based on skills, experience, and location. Expected starting base salary $80,000 to $100,000 per year.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the implementation and management of a Sage software platform for accounting, budgeting, and project management.
• Oversee and monitor monthly construction draws for all projects under construction.
• Reconcile subcontractor and vendor payments and communicate any variances to upper management.
• Re-budget or re-forecast as necessary.
• Process all accounts payable and accounts receivable.
• Prepare monthly financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and month-end close.
• Conduct GL account review and reconciliation, including G&A analysis.

Requirements

• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.

Experience

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of accounting experience.
• Proven experience with Sage software or similar accounting platforms.
• Experience in managing payroll, accounts payable, and accounts receivable.
• Experience in preparing financial statements and conducting GL account reviews.
